ChatGPT Ads Agency: Advertising in ChatGPT You Can Measure
Your customer no longer opens ten tabs. They ask ChatGPT for a recommendation and get one answer that names a handful of companies.ChatGPT Ads, officially OpenAI Ads, is how you make sure one of them is yours. As a ChatGPT Ads agency we run these campaigns from the side that decides the outcome: we install the OpenAI pixel, set up conversion events and send data about what happened to each lead back to the ad account. After a month you know what an inquiry from ChatGPT costs you, not just a click. We have run paid campaigns since 2018 for more than 350 clients and work with businesses in the US and Europe as a Google Partner and Meta Business Partner.

An AI answer has room for a few companies, not a page of results
In a search engine the user gets a list and picks.
In a conversation with an assistant they get one answer that usually names two or three companies, and most people stop there.
Ads in ChatGPT do not compete for the tenth spot on a list; they compete for presence in a single paragraph.
That changes the math: less inventory, so it costs more, but a much shorter path from question to decision.
The same shift applies to unpaid answers, which is why we work in parallel on getting models to name your company on their own.

The ChatGPT Ads platform: what OpenAI Ads Manager looks like today
The official name is OpenAI Ads Manager, though advertisers and search queries mostly call it ChatGPT Ads.
The panel is labeled Beta and it works like an early ad platform: a campaign gets a daily budget, a conversion event chosen at the campaign level (for example Lead Created), an OpenAI tracking pixel and a URL template with campaign, ad group and ad identifiers.
Some features you know from Google and Meta are not there yet.
We are not calling this a revolution and we are not telling anyone to move their budget, but the honest answer to the question whether you can run ads on ChatGPT is now yes.

OpenAI pixel and conversion events: we build the measurement layer
OpenAI provides its own tracking pixel that shows what happens on your site after the click.
It goes straight into the page code or through Google Tag Manager, and only then does a campaign turn from an expense into something you can evaluate.
At the campaign level you pick the conversion event, the action you expect from a person after seeing the ad.
Without it the algorithm optimizes for clicks, not inquiries.
We build the whole layer: pixel, events, URL parameters and the feedback of what happened to the lead later, sent back to the ad account.
That is how you see the cost of an inquiry from this channel, not just the cost of a click.

Measure, learn, move the budget
This is our core working principle and in a new channel it matters more than anywhere else.
We run campaigns in a loop: measure, optimize, measure again, draw a conclusion and move money where the business result is biggest.
For that loop to start, data has to come back from your sales process instead of stopping at a submitted form.
Only then can you answer the question a business owner actually cares about: does an inquiry from ChatGPT cost less, the same or more than an inquiry from Google Ads and Meta.
Without that answer a new channel is a bet, not a decision.

Before launch: brand verification takes a few days
An ad account does not start serving the moment you create it.
OpenAI runs a brand review first, and while it is in progress the panel warns that ads may not serve yet.
In practice that means a few days, and it is the most common reason for disappointment at the start: a company sets up a campaign, sets a budget and cannot understand why nothing happens.
So verification is the first thing we do, before creatives exist and before we agree on a budget.
You know the mechanism from Meta business verification, except here there is no mature appeal path yet, so your company details have to be right the first time.

ChatGPT Ads cost and minimum spend
Campaigns run on a daily budget with a floor.
In the European accounts we manage the minimum is 25 EUR a day, roughly $27, and the panel bills in euros; the USD threshold in a US account may differ, so we check it in your panel before we plan.
Either way it sets the entry ticket: around $750 a month per campaign, and a test that produces a conclusion needs six to eight weeks, so budget $1,500 to $2,250 for the media alone.
Below that there is no data to decide on.
One more limitation we say out loud: when targeting the EEA and Switzerland, custom audiences are not supported, so no remarketing there.
The panel does not list that restriction for US targeting, and we plan around whatever your account allows.

Tools do the counting, a specialist makes the decisions
Our tools and AI agents take over the repetitive work on campaigns: they monitor results, compare periods, flag deviations and draft ad copy for review.
Decisions about budget, bids and campaign direction are made by a specialist who knows your business.
That rule does not change because the channel itself is built on AI.
The opposite is true: the more automation on the platform side, the more a human watching where your money goes is worth.

Experience from 350+ clients, and honesty about a new channel
We have run campaigns since 2018 for more than 350 clients in more than 20 industries, as a Google Partner and a badged Meta Business Partner.
We treat new channels the way we treat old ones: we check whether they deliver sales and we tell the client when they do not.
So about advertising in ChatGPT we say two things at once.
The channel is real and you can buy it, and knowing how to measure it properly is still rare.
At the same time we have no performance data of our own from this channel yet, because nobody has much, so we will not quote you a cost per lead we have not measured.
What we do have are benchmarks from channels we have run for years: in a set of 20 of our European campaigns across 11 industries, cost per lead ranged from about $2 to $11.

Your ad account and your data stay yours
Ad accounts, conversion events and collected data are set up under your company, whatever the channel.
We work on access, not ownership, so when the engagement ends you keep the entire campaign history.
That applies to every market we run campaigns in on your behalf.

What I value most about working with you is having a dedicated specialist. The person matters, what they can do and how they communicate, and that is what I appreciate at adsfox. Our revenue grew significantly and we won a lot of new clients, which is not easy in our business. That month was a record in terms of revenue, and a lot of women decided to book our services. Our schedule was packed, so we actually had to pause the ads for a while.

Justyna

I am very happy with the cooperation. Many more customers started calling. We also see much higher traffic in our stats, both from Facebook and from Google, and it turns into phone calls and new bookings. I am very pleased with working with you.

With you I now pay almost 10 times less per conversion and get 200 new subscriptions a month, so for me this is a game changer.

ChatGPT Ads and OpenAI Ads: frequently asked questions
Yes. OpenAI Ads Manager accepts advertisers, and a business can open an account today and buy placements inside ChatGPT conversations. The panel is labeled Beta, so features and terms change. Before the first ad serves, the account goes through a brand review that takes a few days. Our European accounts are billed in euros; the currency and thresholds in a US account are shown in the panel after signup.
Yes, two names for the same channel. OpenAI Ads is the official name used in the ad platform, which is called OpenAI Ads Manager. ChatGPT Ads is what most advertisers say, because it describes where the ad appears. We use both, and a ChatGPT advertising agency and an OpenAI Ads agency are the same service.
There is no public rate card. The one hard number is the minimum daily budget: 25 EUR (about $27) in the European accounts we manage, which puts a single campaign at roughly $750 a month. A meaningful test runs six to eight weeks, so plan $1,500 to $2,250 in media. We do not quote a cost per acquisition for this channel because we have not measured one yet, and we will not publish rates nobody has measured. For reference, in 20 of our European campaigns in other channels cost per lead ranged from about $2 to $11 depending on the industry. Our management fee starts at $490 a month per channel, with the media budget paid directly to OpenAI. The full breakdown is in our ChatGPT Ads guides.
A few days. Until it is done, the panel warns that ads may not serve yet, and this is the most common reason for a disappointing first week. That is why we start verification first, before creatives and before the budget conversation.
It is OpenAI's tracking code that shows what happens on your site after someone clicks an ad. It goes into the page code directly or through Google Tag Manager. Without it the campaign optimizes for clicks instead of inquiries, and you cannot calculate a cost per lead. We install it together with conversion events and with the feedback of sales data to the ad account, the same way we do it in server-side tracking. If your landing page is slow or has no clear form, the pixel will only measure people leaving; our web design agency builds pages that are ready for paid traffic.
It depends on where you target. For the EEA and Switzerland the panel states that custom audiences are not supported, so no remarketing or lookalike audiences there. The panel does not list that restriction for US targeting, and we confirm what your account allows before planning. Where remarketing is unavailable, the whole budget works on cold traffic, and people who clicked but did not convert can still be recovered with remarketing in Google Ads and Meta, provided ChatGPT traffic is tagged properly from day one. More on this in our ChatGPT Ads articles.
Ask for the details you cannot get from a press release: that accounts go through a brand review, what the minimum daily budget is, which targeting options are missing and how the agency will measure cost per lead rather than clicks. An agency that has actually run campaigns in the panel will answer in specifics. One more test: a good agency will tell you when not to do this. If $2,000 is your entire ad budget, the honest recommendation is to strengthen the channels that already work and revisit in a quarter.
In search, the user gets a list of results and chooses. In a conversation with an assistant they get one answer that names a few companies, and most stop there. The ad does not compete for a spot on a long list but for presence in one paragraph. There is less inventory and a shorter path from question to decision. It also arrives in a mature measurement environment: we compare the cost of an inquiry from ChatGPT with the cost from your Google Ads campaigns on the same footing.
Not all of it, and not at the expense of channels that deliver. The sensible scenario is a separate test budget alongside your current campaigns, run long enough to compare cost per inquiry across channels. At the minimum daily spend that means about $750 a month for at least six weeks. For companies with a smaller budget the better decision today is to strengthen the campaigns that already work and invest in unpaid visibility in AI answers.
That is a separate discipline called generative engine optimization, or AI SEO: getting models to name your company in their answers on their own, with no cost per impression. It requires content that can be quoted and a clean, consistent description of your business across the web. We explain it in our GEO guides and offer it as a service at AI SEO agency.
